CPA marketing is a great way to make money online because you don’t have to sell anything. CPA stands for Cost per Action. That means as soon as you get one of your website visitors to perform a certain action, for example submitting their email address into a web form, you will get paid. Acquiring leads is oftentimes subject to fraud. Some CPA marketers pay offshore companies to submit fake emails in order to get paid for them. CPA networks lose a lot of money that way. As I already said in my introduction CPA networks are looking for somebody who is doing honest white hat internet marketing, someone who doesn’t scam them. Since they hope to generate a lot of revenue together with their affiliates they want to work with people who know what they’re doing. You don’t need to be a full-time internet marketer who has been in the business for the last ten years but you should have an idea about some of the strategies you could be using to promote CPA offers. If you have your own website, tell them. If you know PPC or SEO or PPV, tell them. The more a CPA network knows about your work the better they can assist you in finding the right offers to promote and getting the highest payouts.
- Prepare before applying to a CPA network
When applying to a CPA network it is best to show them some kind of landing page or website you will be using to promote CPA offers. This doesn’t have to be the exact page you will be using later, just something that shows how you work. Your own WordPress blog could be great to show your work online. Try not only to have a decent-looking website but demonstrate how you are marketing online. Best put some banner ads from other affiliate networks on there to show that you are already promoting other people’s products and that you know how to make money online. CPA networks also love email marketers. Try to have a a squeeze page or an email form ready for demonstration purposes.
- The dreaded phone call
Almost all CPA applications sooner or later eclipse in a phone call from the affiliate manager. Don’t be afraid of that. They don’t want to quiz you or embarrass you about things you don’t know. They merely want to get to know you better to work more successfully with you. They will ask you how you’re planning on promoting their offers. And they might ask which offers are most interesting to you. The better you can answer these questions the harder the affiliate managers will work to make your campaigns profitable. If you don’t have a lot of experience, be honest. Tell your CPA network that you are just starting out. But have a promotional strategy in mind that you will be using. The better you prepare for this phone call the higher your chance of getting accepted.
Usually during the phone call the affiliate manager will tell you that you will get approved right away. Once you got your CPA approval you can start promoting offers immediately.
