The more people view you as a trusted expert on affiliate marketing, the more you stand to gain in your business. In the online world where every sale takes place without any face-to-face human contact, trust plays an important factor in how successful you can become for your business.

The following are 2 simple steps on how proper blog or website maintenance can quickly help to increase this trust that we are trying to build with our customers and subscribers.

1. Check for broken links

Have you ever found what you were looking for and were utterly disappointed when the link in question is a broken link and you had to leave the website? Well you probably did not give much trust to the website owner then and you had a feeling too that you would never return to that site again. It is important to check regularly that all your links on your website or blog are as valid as the day you created them. I know of some good WordPress plugins that track and show any broken links for you to take quick actions.

2. Keep important pages updated regularly

There are some web pages that you created long ago that often do not get updated over time simply because you had forgotten to do so. Some of the more important pages include your ‘Contact Us’ and ‘About Us’ or testimonials just to name a few. These are the pages most first time visitors look for and failing to update them does not go well with your visitors. You do want to give an impression that you take your work seriously and that is where people’s trust in you can change quite easily too. First impressions last.
