When writing and structuring your blog post there are a few key things you should be aware of. Now I know A lot of people who are just starting off in the world of blogging will have a slightly difficult time understanding this at 1st but, don’t let it overwhelm you. Use this quick outline & do your research. You will be glad you did later on down the road. Some people Start blogging without understanding the importance of SEO and typically waste a lot of time and effort creating blog post that essentially never rank and receive very low trickles of untargeted traffic. The key is to work smarter not harder. Once you kinda get a slight understanding of how SEO & keywords work you’ll be way ahead of the game and better off in the long-run.
Quick SEO Checklist when Preparing your Blog Post
- Choose your topic and targeted audience based on your specific niche
- Locate your primary keyword using the “Google Keyword Tool”
- Choose which keyword to target based on “Exact Match” Searches and the amount of times that keyword is search on a monthly basis (Try to target longtail keywords with around 500-1500 searches a month) with LOW competition.
- Create your tittle using your primary keyword
- Create 3 sub titles using your H1, H2 and H3 Title Tags with your primary keyword
- When writing your post try to include your keyword in the post body where it reads naturally without clashing with the flow of the read. A good rule of thumb is 1-3% of the Blog post should include your keyword.
There are a few good WordPress plugins and tools that help you when writing posts that are SEO friendly. If you don’t have WordPress, no worries, just do the best you can and everyday dig a lil bit deeper into the world of SEO. If you really want to make the big bucks like some of the professional bloggers do, then it will be in your best interest to better understand it right from the start.

Once the post is made there is another key factor that determines whether or not your post will rank highly in the search engines for the keyword term. Ranking is typically determined by these main factors listed below.
Do your research on these topics and learn them!
1. The importance of page and websites age when ranking in search engines.
2. Page/Post keyword density (Keyword appears 1-3% of the time naturally).
3. Keywords are used in the post title tag (H1, H2 & H3 Tags).
4. On page links (inbound and outbound).
5. The amount of relevant incoming links coming into your page or post.
6. Your social media presence. Is your site relevant in the social media community.
7. Unique content that is relevant to your tittle and tags.
