What to Look For in a Venue For Your Wedding Ceremony
September 23, 2022
When you’re looking for a venue there’s a few things you need to keep in mind. The first decision is whether or not to get married inside or out and to be ready for anything. Break it down so that you have both the pros and cons for both options. Let’s look at them both separately.
If you want to get married in a park or by the beach make sure that there are places for your guests to park. There is nothing worse than being invited to a wedding and having to walk a few blocks because there was nowhere to park.
Make sure there is a large enough area for everyone and arrange to have chairs available for your guests to sit on. If it’s in the middle of summer be aware that your guests are going to be hot and thirsty so arrange to have water there for them. It would also help if the ceremony was held under shady trees or an area out of the sun. Is there a restroom nearby? This may sound trivial but not to the person who needs it!
Don’t forget to arrange for an alternate location in case there’s a sudden change in the weather such as rain or strong winds. Your guests will really appreciate the gesture.
If the venue is on the first floor, is there an elevator available for elderly or disabled guests? The only reason, in most cases, that the venue would be on a first floor, is if the reception is being held in the same room. Most people can walk up stairs without assistance but there will be a few who will find it difficult, so making allowances for them will be really appreciated.
Is the venue air conditioned? This is really important if you happen to live in a tropical area where it’s hot and humid. Having everyone feeling comfortable should be a priority.
Are the restrooms adequate for the number of guests? If you’re only holding the ceremony there then this won’t be a problem.
These are just a few of the things to be aware of when choosing a venue and will ensure that your ceremony goes off without a hitch.
